Lithographica Press is the studio of Kelsey Alexsandra Van Horn
Kelsey Van Horn is a 26 year old printer and natural science illustrator born and raised outside of Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She graduated from Shawnee High School, and received her BFA in Printmaking at the Kansas City Art Institute. She currently lives in Oklahoma City, and works and teaches out of the [Press] at Artspace at Untitled. She balances studio with a full-time job, and caring for her two cats and Brazilian short-tailed opossum.
Kelsey primarily creates work as a paleoartist – an illustrator of extinct species. She uses her work to study the anatomy of animals, both living and extinct. She is also interested in exploring colour and experimentation in the print process. She works in media such as lithography, etching, relief, silkscreen and monotype, as well as watercolour paintings and ink and charcoal drawings.
